Session 2: Mobile Concepts
Mobile website vs. Mobile App
Mobile website:
The mobile Web refers to the use of the
Internet through handheld mobile devices. Increasingly, smartphones and other
devices with wireless data access structures access the same "full"
Internet traditionally accessed on desktop or laptop computers.
A web site
designed for the small screens of mobile phones. Queries to a web site include
the type of browser being used, and when a request from a mobile browser is
made, the site redirects it to its mobile counterpart (if there is one) for a more
streamlined surfing experience. Of course, the user can access the mobile site
by its own name such as mobile.pcmag.com. Mobile sites render their pages in
narrow columns and often provide only a subset of their regular web site. This contrasts
with the native mobile app.
Mobile App:
A native
mobile app is a smartphone application that is coded in a specific programming
language, such as Objective C for iOS and Java for Android operating systems.
Native mobile apps provide fast performance and a high degree of reliability.
Some users
can even use some apps without an Internet connection but it is expensive to
develop because it is tied to one type of operating system, forcing the company
that creates the app to make duplicate versions that work on other platforms.
Most video games are native mobile apps.

While visitors largely use tablets for what he called “lazy internet”—consuming media and content, as well as browsing—they tend to prefer smartphones primarily for communication, content snacking, and using mobile apps. A distinction in terms of place and time can be made regarding the utilization of consumers.

Tablets are portable, while smartphones are pocketable, so tablets are mostly used in the living room, while smartphones are used within the home and also on the go. Mobile phones are also the most personal devices we use, while tablets are often shared with spouses, partners, or childrenDue to smartphones being used outdoors and on the go more often, there’s a massive difference in the types of experiences people expect based on the device they are using.

A gamechanger is a visionary. A company
that alters its business strategy and conceives an entirely new business plan.
This type of company switches up and forms a new business strategy in order to
compete directly or indirectly with competitors. A game changer changes the way
that something is done, thought about or made
A game changer has new and different ideas
that stand out from the crowd. This person has an idea that completely changes
the way a situation develops. Companies employ this tactic to create ideas or
